Lilacs are fairly hardy and easily maintainable shrubs that can offer a lot of privacy and they smell simply wonderful in the late spring/early summer months. Here are some problems you may encounter… Little critters…mice like to borrow in the mulch so int he winter do not put too much on there. Podery mildew during the humid and hot months.
