Coffee Can Bird Feeder
Posted on 05.26.09 by thegardengossip @

if you are going to make or have your child make that coffee cand fird feeder then just make sure that the are no jaggared edges. You do not want to cut yourself and you do not want the birds to get hurt either. Then you can decorate it…but it really does not have to be fancy and do not paint the inside because hen the birds will be eating the paint! Simple is sometimes best and in this case the most healthiest solution for your bird friends.

Birds
Posted on 08.30.07 by thegardengossip @

If you could be any bird what would you be? I think that I would be an Owl. I really do not know why but they are just so beautiful. And to see a white barn owl in flight is just amazing. I have an owl in one of my trees and it is so loud. I had one owl a few years back that was so loud that not only did it wake me up but I was really scared because it was screaming. I though that there was a coyote outside with a cat or something…very strange. But that would be the bird I would be.

DO you have a garden where the birds are really bother you and your vegetables and crops? Even if it is just a small garden here is a quick and easy way to get things out of your garden. Get an old garden hose and pose it at a snake. Cut it up to a garden snake size and you will be getting rid of those pesky birds from taking what you have been slaving over all summer long!

Mourning Dove
Posted on 07.23.07 by thegardengossip @

If you hear a 5 note call which resembles Hoo-ah Hoo, Hoo, Hoo then you are heating a mourning dove. Which I had always though was called morning dove because they were always around my house singing in the mornings – especially the summer mornings when I was a little kid. If you want to attract this bird keep in mind that they love shallow water so a garden pond or a bird bath would be the best way. And they love sunflower seeds, cracked corn and other grains that are on the ground.
