With all the lack of sun we have been having … my topsy turvy plants are just not doing very good at all. I am just so disappointed with this because I had such high hopes for it. Especially since I can not plant anything in my yard. I used to have a beautiful vegetable garden at my parents house but for the past few years I have been really struggling to have a nijce garden! I love seeing the red berries on bushes after it has just snowed. I think it is just so pretty and I am actually surprised that the berries are still there. They must not be edible because the birds usually take every last berry anywhere! I used to have a blueberry bush that was wild and I could never beat the birds – because the second that those berries were ripe they would take them. I should have moved it and put something around it so that they wouldn’t get it but I didn’t. I figured that it is there so they can have them Filed under: Fruits and Vegetables Comments: None |

I personally love to grow my own herbs and I think that many of them have great healing properties such as Echinacea. Many doctors frown upon herbs and herbal remedies but I have to wonder if it is because of selfish and money motivated reasons. I think that herbs are amazing if they are used properly and that they have properties modern man-made medicines may not have. Not to mention that many medicines have these herbs in them. They are now saying that this herb may not help your colds but I disagree. I think that this herb could help a cold but many herbs are best at preventing things. I think that herbs and herbal teas and tinctures are best for those preventative methods. Filed under: Flowers andFruits and Vegetables Comments: None |

There are somethings that you want to make sure that you know what you are doing when you plant them because they can be quite invasive. And I know this from terrible experiences!! Peppermint and Catnip are just very invasive plants so make sure you plant them in places that you really would like them to spread but after a few years they really will spread like wildfire!!!
