Block Your Weeds

Here is a great way to keep out the weeds. Do not get rid of that old shower curtain because you can put it right under the mulch so that you will not get those annoying weeds. They do sell products that you can put under your mulch but why waste you money when you can just use something that you already have. This will be sure to to stop any annoying weeds from popping through that mulch. This is just as easy to use as the products that you by at the gardening stores!

Dish Soap And Aphids

Dish soap will kill aphids even better that the insecticidal soaps however, it may harm your plants. Alwasy be sure to test a small area and only use 1-2 tablespoons of dish soap to a gallon of water and DO NOT use antibacterial soaps…they will hard your plants. Personally, I have had great luck with Equate.

When To Water Basics

When to water your plants…sounds rather simple yet sometimes over looked. The best time to water is early morning or early evening. Do not water during the heat of the day when the sun is at it’s strongest – you will burn the plants and it will evaporate before the plant can benefit form it. And do not water when it is windy because you have no control of where it is going :)

Get Rid Of Your Stumps

There is nothing worse than having that old tree stump slowly decaying in your yard. If you do not have the resources or extra money to get it removed here is a great tip to help speed up this process…
Drill some deem and big holes in the stump and close to the edge. Fill the holes with white sugar, molasses or buttermilk. Make sure it is wetted completely and cover it up with a foot layer of mulch.
