I agree, garden markers are essential to keeping track of what you have in the garden. I found it difficult last season with my tomatoes, I planted 4 different varieties, cherry, oxheart, gross lisse and yellow cherry. It turned out to be pot luck when they grew!
I like to use aluminium cans, you cut little strips from it and write with a blunt pencil to indent the name.

I use Internet to find out how reliable a particular nursery is. If they have more happy customers then dissatisfied ones, then that's the one I choose to do business with.

I am very frustrated - I had a blog that had nothing on it and it went down. I am so sick of the little guy getting screwed. And did you hear the latest...google now wants our health records!! They want doctors and insurances to put our health records online with them!

I would like to know too! I'm one of the "little guys" who barely had any PR at all, but enough so that I could make a little pocket change via PPP and other advertising sites.
Now? I just posted the first available opp I've seen since December.
You're right, it's not fair and I keep researching, trying to figure out 1-how to get my PR back up (from zero? it shouldn't be that hard, but it is!) and 2-why I keep reading stuff from people saying we (bloggers who do sponsored posts) deserved the pulling of our PR's.

What the heck is that all about anyway?!!

*sigh*

well, I'm just here from your link at PPP. Sorry to have broken out in a rant on you. *heh*

Lovely blog. Keep up the good work.

Don't worry asbout your page rank. There are just a few measurables that matter with search engine marketing.

1) where you appear in the search engines for your chosen key phrases

2) how many unique visitors your marketing is bringing in

3) conversion rate of visitors to customers

In order to get started with boosting your traffic, there a lots of things that can be done, but a bit of agressive social bookmarking and frequent posting on similar nofollow blogs will make some difference.

We ran into this problem while living in the southern united states.
What we did was similar to the sugar and baking powder idea.
We mixed dry Nestles Quick with baking powder and it worked really well.
We mixed it all together and put it into bottle caps all over the place then let them have at it.
They eat it and carry it back home.
They all eat it and the baking powder makes them explode.
Soon, no more roaches!

I have done this and had success with it but I do not do it near my veggies or flowers....however epsom salt is great for certain flowers - it rejuvinates them. This is great for getting rid of weeks between sidewalks and paths. But do not put salt on cement it will destroy it.

If salt will stop the growth of weeds, will it also affect the plants nearby? What happens to the soil after salt treatment? Will it still be fertile to grow veggies & other plants?

Hello, I have just launched a website detailing herbal treatments, collected from many parts of the world, for various childhood problems.

This website, Far Away Sisters, besides providing consultations in Holistic medicine, also provides a lot of information about the use of herbs for common illnesses.

This past April a pair of Mourning Doves set up housekeeping on my apartment windowsill which has a security gate. Unfortunately this was a particularly cold month and I believe the clutch froze. In fact the doves merely sat near the nest but not on it. Finally both left the nest unattended and after about 2 weeks, I removed the one remaining unhatched egg.

The other day I noticed the nest which consisted of only a few twigs was once more occupied. I am not sure if this is the same pair but as the weather is lovely I am hoping to see the clutch and perhaps even hatched.
