When it comes to your herbal teas – you don’t want to ruin them by putting all that refined white sugar in it. Try putting a teaspoon of honey in it or maybe even lemon. It is not only good for you but it is a healthy way to sweeten tea. I used to put 4 teaspoons of sugar in my tea…now I just use honey…so much better for so many reasons!

Bird Feeders

When it comes to the great outdoors….there is something nice about sitting in the backyard and admiring the many birds that are in your area. All you have to do is get them there and with a great bird feeder you can do just that. I have a bird feeder that has brought all sorts of different kinds and color birds to my backyard…it is fabulous.

And then you get a nice bird house for them to live in and create their own home. I have an owl house that I am still waiting for that owl to come in and make their home. Then there are other things like a nice bird bath which not only make for a great addition to any garden decor but the birds really love it. You just have to make sure to keep it clean and change the water often. And then there is my absolute favorite…the hummingbird feeder. Put one right outside your window and you will see them all summer long!

Music Furniture

If you have every played an instrument then you know of all that goes into it…you not only have to worry about getting the instrument and the lessons but there is a lot of music studio furniture that goes into your studies. There are stands, special seats, instrument holders, folders…the list goes on and on. And when you are just starting out on an instrument of course you want all the stuff that goes along with learning it. I just got my friends daughter a new music stand…not the boring music stand but a cool blue one!

Rosemary can be a perennial even up north. If you keep it in a big pot outside near you place it will make it through the coldest of weather. I have a few different switch plates and when ever my grandmother comes over she is always commenting on them because it really does add something to a room. i love the mirror kinds but for kids rooms you can get sports themed or cartoon themed…you can pretty much get anything. I’ve always enjoyed watching television shows but have never been able to find the tie to sit down for a full program without being interrupted. It seems like there is always something around the house that needs to be done or the kids need something. One they got to bed and I’m done with everything the only thing on is usually news or talk shows. With the dvr we got when we upgraded our service at http://www.cannonsatellite.com/ I can now watch whatever we want whenever it’s convenient. Plus it makes it easier for me to find stuff for the kids that I want them to watch rather than them just picking from what’s on while I make dinner. I love being able to chat at the bus stop with the other moms about what happened on our favorite shows the night before. Until now I’ve always felt out of the loop when they talked about this stuff but not anymore! I always wondered how they found the time to keep up with their favorite shows and now I know. Pellet stove and Wood Stove

My parents are looking to get a pellet stove or a wood stove . There are advantages to both. The main thing that would say wood stove is that you are not relying on electricity to help power it. It kind of defeats the purpose with a pellet stove. Not only are you paying for the pellets but you are also paying for the electricity – so you have 2 increases in bills which defeats the purpose of going green in my opinion?

My sister has been looking for a new computer and has been looking at a couple including compaq desktops and then the Dell laptops. She just don’t know if she wants a desktop or a laptop. Right now she has a desktop but she it never on it because she is always in another room where there is no room for a desktop which makes her lean towards getting a laptop. There are advantages to both – she just has to figure out what she wants the most…BEFORE she spends all that money!

If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would mainly be doing all my shopping online I would have never believed it. There are great sites out there too to help you save a ton of money and the latest one I have checked out is No More Rack and like a good online shopper I of course searched for that nomorerack scam article that was out there. But to my surprise the nomorerack reviews were all positive.

So, at 12 p.m. I went over to the site to check out the new deals and that particular day they had a watch that was regular $800 but it was 88% off…it was less than $100…that is amazing! And then there are the free deals. You can get items that are $0 and you just have to pay the shipping. But you have to act fast because these offers go really quick!

My boyfriend is the sweetest person in the world, and I’m not just saying that. Right after we first met we went through a major struggle when I went through a bout with breast cancer – certainly not what I was expecting when I was only 29 years old. I love the way he makes me feel safe and he always takes care of me – there’s something to be said for not having to worry who has your back! I got him Directv Montana for his birthday back in November and he loves it, although I think I’m the one who’s gotten more use out of it than he has. I like sitting in his arms at night watching movies…he just makes me feel really safe and I’m so glad we found each other. I feel terrible saying it but I found a ring hidden in his closet the other day – I think he’s going to propose which makes me happier than anything ever has in my life!

I know that I had always salted my walkways because I didn’t want people to slip and I still do not want them to slip however, my walkways had to be redone because they were just all cracking and falling apart becaues the salk was literally eatting away at the concrete. So now I use a lot of baking soda mixed with and it really does the same thing and I do not ruin my walkway!

Having a pool is actually quite a bit of work. My parents had a pool all through my childhood and I loved it because I never had to do any of the work. I would just go out in the summertime and enjoy the pool. But pool supplies cost a lot of money and then there are all the pool accessories that go along with it. Not to mention just getting that pool looking great for the beginning of the season and then you have to maintain that clarity to the water.

As a kid it is great to have a pool but as an adult it is a lot of word and I have been debating on whether or not I want to get one because my kids would love it. It takes money and a lot of time and a super lot of patience even. But with the right supplies – it makes things so much easier. There really is nothing like being able to go swimming in your own back yard.

My husband plays the guitar and he has used an online guitar tuner before and he likes it…he finds it to be just as accurate as the other guitar tuners he has used in the past. I started to take lessons but the teacher that I had just didn’t teach it all that well and I lost interest very quickly. My mom was adamant that when we got a second home we had to make some upgrades to it to set it apart on the rental market. She said we needed a hot tub, satellite TV and to get a home alarm but we weren’t sure. We called and got some Adt tips and decided that WAS a good idea but the hot tub really just seemed like overkill. Wouldn’t you know it, last year when we drove up to the beach house mom was already there…relaxing in the new hot tub on the deck! We couldn’t believe she’d spent her hard earned money on the thing but she was just over the moon with happiness. The kids love it, of course, and I have to admit it has been renting out more consistently than it was before which is nice. I just can’t imagine why she took it upon herself but you know, at the end of the day, that’s mom! She’s a crazy one like that and I love her for it.

I think that water softeners really make a significant difference when it comes to hard water. I had terrible hard water and it got to eh point where I would turn on the water and there would be orange water that would come out first. Personally, I just love getting flowers. It is one thing to go out and get flowers from the florists but it is just so exciting to get them delivered to you I think the best is when you are at work and you get a beautiful bouquet of flowers from your husband or significant other for just no reason at all. That happened to me once and I remember it like it was yesterday….everyone at work wants to see them and they just think that the person that sent them to you is just so sweet. Of course you may be expecting flowers certain times of the year like birthdays and anniversary’s but it is always much more exciting to have flowers delivered to you for no reason at all…the just because flowers are the best kinds to get in my opinion.

And my favorite types to get are not the kinds that are going to die but the actual plants than you can keep for a long time. Bouquets are nice but plants are better I think. And if you take care of them correctly they can live for quite a long time. You just need to read up on the proper plant care for the plant. And every plant has a different way of caring for it. They need a certain amount of light, water, temperature and plant food. College roommate moves on

My roommate from college just bought her first home. She is so excited and so happy to no longer have roommates. After college, she moved to the big city to find a job and enjoy the social life any big city can bring. However, with a big city comes the expensive rent. She couldn’t live there without a roommate, so even after college she had to find another roommate. At first she loved it. New roommates are always fun because you always think they are going to be better than the last one. I think this roommate was the one that put her over the edge. After living together for one month, my friend was house hunting. She found a place very quickly. She made sure the yard was cleaned up, the walls were repainted and the security Choice alarm was installed. I think it was the fasted moving process I have ever seen. She was quickly out of her old apartment and into her new home. Even though it was quick, I am still so happy for her because she seems so happy. I think she will love not having roommates!

The bees are crazy this time of year it seems. They are just going nuts so you want to make sure that you stay away from them because they may just sting you for no reason at all. And beware of the nests especially the ones in the grounds. Patio Pavers

I thought it was going to cost a small fortune to get a nice little patio in the back. I have terrible lawn so I figured a nice patio with patio pavers would look so much better than weeds and just dirt that doesn’t even grow weeds. And this way we would have a place to put our grill on and have that little get together once in a while. And they look really nice too. So, I looked into doing it myself rather than hiring someone and paying 3 times the actual cost of the pavers. I ended up doing it myself and sure it took all summer long but it came out pretty good.

I could have gone the easy route with installing artificial grass that would have done the trick but I am glad that I went with the pavers instead for this location in the yard. And now I am looking into the landscape lighting installation prices. I am actually leaning towards solar lights because they are getting better and better reviews everyday and it would really save so much on the overall electric bill…any little bit of savings helps these days!
Now I just have to find lighting that I really like!

My mother in law has a drip irrigation system and she just loves it. And you can go right online to find the right system for you as well as other irrigation supplies you can get online too. I was actually looking at lawn sprinklers this year but I never got around to getting one. We had a pretty wet spring and summer so I guess I wouldn’t have needed it this year anyways. My neighbor has a lawn sprinkler system and they always have it on…even when it is raining which is pretty stupid in my opinion but that is just my opinion.

These are great to have if you have a garden too. I have a garden and a drip irrigation system would be perfect because then you can make sure that the plants are getting plenty of water regardless of the time of day. you should not be watering plants when the sun is beating hard on them because it will hurt the plant and dry them out. LED Bulbs

I my opinion… LED Bulbs are now the way to go. The thing I like about these bulbs is that they give off no heat and in some rooms especially in the summer months…you do not want to be sitting under a bright hot light. And for me they will not give me a headache. The florescent surly bulbs out there give me such a headache and it really messes up my vision. I just can not see correctly after a while. It puts a huge stain on my eyes.

Not to mention that those bulbs are FUL of mercury and I don’t care what they say…that is not eco friendly. These bulbs are not being properly thrown away but I would say 90% of the people out there. They are just throwing them in their trash…they don’t care. And they DON’T last 5 years…1 year if you’re lucky. LED is the way to go.

I am looking to get a new washer. I have one that is a side loader that I got a few years back and I have never been satisfied with it. Sometimes you’ve just got to get away. Actually it seems like you get that feeling pretty often. But then there are those times where you feel it so strongly that if you don’t do it you just might explode or something! Well, I was feeling that way a few weeks ago, so I decided that it was about time to plan a little friend vacation. I got in touch with my best friend and she was of course on board. But then there was the bouncing off of actual locations for it.

One of the things that we thought up of doing was going to a theme park. It seemed like such a fun idea that would take minimal planning on our point, so we of course were game for it. So, all my stuff is planted but they have not seen the sun in weeks it seems. The rain has just been horrible here and if it is not raining then it has been terrible overcast and it has been freezing. I think that all my tomatos are not going to make it which is making me so incredibly sad because I was looking forward to this years garden so much!

Setting Goals at Coffee Shops

One of the coolest things I did this past year at a cafe was setting goals with a good friend. Before 2011 began, my friend and I sat down at a local coffee shop and set out our specific goals for the year. It was truly amazing to take time with my good friend and compare our situations, so that we could help each other achieve the dreams that we have. I found that the coffee shop offered a space very conducive to setting goals and was the best thing.
Setting a home security alarm (www.Home-Alarm-Systems.com) is always a must before leaving the house to do things like meeting up at a coffee shop. Especially for setting goals, I lik! e my mind to be focused and not distracted by anything else. I loved it when my friend and I would meet for a few hours at a time and we would really think long and hard about the few goals that we wanted to achieve for the year. The key to setting successful goals is to make them specific, have a plan to follow them, and then actually do the actions required for the plan. If one fails to do as the plan says, then one will never be able to achieve his or her goals. My friend definitely taught me this at our coffee sessions!
